Grant(s) Awarded

In 2019, A Women in Buddhism grant was awarded for $2,700 in support of the Women’s 2019 Retreat specially designed for female veterans whom have suffered from different forms of trauma such as PTSD, MST, anxiety, sexual harassment, and Close Combat Trauma. This retreat will take place in The Black Hills of South Dakota where there are numerous activities set up for healing both physically and emotionally.

The retreat will include canvas painting, Buddhist meditation, equine therapy and trust therapy. The goal is to have participants take back with them a feeling of increased self-worth and the beginning of a healing process. Female veterans find ways to deal with trauma. Along the way, a comradery of trust is formed within their group and support system. They are not alone.
